My 13 month old isn’t that interested in solid foods?

16 Aug

I am still nursing my daughter, 13 months. She is allergic to milk and eggs.

She isn’t that attracted in eating solid foods. She would rather nurse than eat solids. I’ve never given her jarred baby foods. I chop up table foods so that they are controllable for her, but I don’t usually puree foods. She chews really well. She really likes Cheerios and will eat those all day long of her own volition. Sometimes she is so excited about eating, but most times she couldn’t care less.

I offer her a variety of foods all day long. I try to spoon feed her; I try to let her feed herself; I try finger foods with no pressure. She won’t eat more than a bite.

3 month old kitten trying to nurse?

01 Aug

My kitty started to try to nurse on my clothes, my pillows, and my blankets. On the clothes is annoying since she will do this when I am in them (on the collar, by my neck or shoulder) since it gets wet and her nails are sharp and will at the very least irritate my skin. But is forcing her to stop harmful for her? Is there something else I can get her to do this on like a special blanket? She has started to do this more and more.

Can a 6 month old break her nose?

21 Feb

Hi, My girl rolled off my bed this morn (feel amazingly guilty I only twisted my back to get something out of the wardrobe and she was in the middle of our king size bed in her nursing pillow as she usually cant turn herself out of it). Next thing I knew there was a thud and a scream. I called NHS direct and they said that concusion was the thing to worry about and she has no signs of this and it’s been 5 hours since it happened so I reckon we are ok now. She is acting normal, eating and playing and laughing. I’m a bit worried about her small nose tho as she has a small scratch at the end and a small bruise on it. It didnt bleed and she is fine with me touching it. I’m panicking she has really hurt herself! NHS direct said no need to go to the hospital as she has no concusion symptoms. Can a child this young hurt there nose as I dredge up reading that v young babies cant break there nose as it is mostly cartilage.

I’m breastfeeding my 4 month old exclusively, lately she starts crying every time I want to lay her down into?

19 Nov

the position that I nurse her, on a pillow across my lap. When she just wakes up she’ll nurse no problem or when I first stick in a bottle (of breast milk) and then switch to my nipple. I wonder if this is a nursing arrange? Or maybe she just got spoiled and just wants to be held and not lay down? Does anyone have experience with this?

My 12 month old seems to have a strong attachment to the Boppy pillow?

29 Sep

She is still breastfed (allergic to milk and eggs so she BF’s more than usual). Whenever she sees her Boppy pillow, she starts screaming until I nurse her. I mean, she could have just eaten and not be a bit hungry. But as soon as she sees the Boppy, she HAS to nurse, if even for just a second. Have you ever had this happen?
